Beatriz Lamarca was born in 1984 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and lives and works in Paris.
Her practice brings together photography, video, sculpture, writing and explores identity, emotional memory and the construction of the self. For more than fifteen years, she developed her personal work under the pseudonym Bibi Yamamoto, creating a visual language around exile, transformation, and self-invention. In 2026, with Simulated Lovers, Lamarca presents her first art book under her own name and her debut exhibition in Paris.
Alongside her artistic practice, she currently works as an Art Director at Louis Vuitton, Paris.
